Custom Orthotics

What are custom orthotics?

Custom orthotics are specialized shoe inserts crafted to offer support and comfort tailored to the unique structure of each individual's feet. Available in various types, these orthotics are designed to address and support a range of conditions. Dr. Joshi utilizes advanced 3D scanning technology to create orthotics that ensure a precise fit for optimal effectiveness.

How do custom orthotics work?

Custom orthotics work by providing tailored support and alignment for your feet, which can help alleviate pain and improve overall foot function. Here’s how they function:

  1. Individualized Fit: We use the latest 3D scanning technology to customize orthotics for your feet. This ensures a precise fit that accommodates your unique arch structure and foot shape.
  2. Arch Support: Everyone’s biomechanical arches are different. Custom orthotics provide targeted arch support, which can help distribute weight evenly across the foot, reducing strain on specific areas.
  3. Alignment Correction: By correcting misalignments in the feet, custom orthotics can help improve overall body posture and biomechanics, potentially alleviating pain in the feet, ankles, knees, and the back.
  4. Cushioning: The materials used in custom orthotics often include cushioning layers that absorb shock, enhancing comfort during activities like walking, running, or playing sports.
  5. Pressure Redistribution: They help redistribute pressure across the foot, reducing excessive pressure on sensitive areas, which can prevent pain and discomfort.
  6. Enhanced Functionality: Custom orthotics can improve stability and balance, making it easier to walk or engage in physical activities without discomfort.

By addressing specific foot issues and providing support where needed, custom orthotics can lead to significant improvements in mobility, quality of life, and performance.

What is the process?

Step 1: Assessment

Before recommending orthotics, Dr. Joshi conducts a comprehensive assessment that includes:

  1. Medical History: Identifying any underlying physical factors, such as injuries or health conditions, that may affect your feet.
  2. Footwear Analysis: Assessing your shoes and recommending options to improve support and mitigate pain.
  3. Biomechanical Assessment: Evaluating your range of movement, gait, and individual foot function.
  4. Consultation Fee: Cost associated with assessment is waived with purchase of orthotics.

Step 2: Recommendation
After the assessment, if beneficial, Dr. Joshi will recommend a custom orthotics tailored to your specific needs. He will help you select which materials and modifications will be best for reaching your goals. Your order is then sent to a specialized lab for production.

Step 3: Fitting Session and Follow-Up
After receiving your custom orthotics, a short fitting session will be scheduled to ensure proper fit. Dr. Joshi will guide you through the initial wearing period and schedule any follow-up appointments for necessary modifications.

Pricing

Our custom orthotics are available starting at $550 per pair. While most orthotics fall within this price range, specialized options, unique material selections, or additional modifications may incur extra costs. The total cost is covered by most extended health plans.
